To pay close attention to the Master Plan that includes builders', maps, models, proposed developments surrounding the neighborhood. What can you do if the Master plan comes after the fact?
Some residents who attended an information session on the proposed Metrorail extension from West Falls Church runs all the way to Loudoun County were surprised to learn that few sizable power stations are coming to their backyard. Ooooops....!
Engineers and associates involved in building the first half of the Silver Line, an 11-mile extension that would run through Tysons Corner, told the community at the Dec. 8 meeting that a 230,000-volt Dominion Virginia Power substation was needed to power the rails.
The question is, how big of a power station that will be? Try to read the fine prints. Here's a snippet:
But residents who learned that some of the project's 11 smaller substations - which distribute the DVP electricity directly to the rails - are coming to their communities missed their chance.
